Cats munchkin: description of the breed
Munchkins are a very unusual breed of cats. Their body length is standard, but the legs are 2, or even 3 times shorter than other cats. This feature has become the reason that the Manchkins are called "dachshunds."
Unusually, the behavior of the Manchkins. An ordinary cat, to see further, can rise on its hind legs, but the Munchkins are not like that: they sit on the seat, while resting their tail firmly on it. At the same time, the short front legs hang down on the sides, which makes the munchkin look like a kangaroo.
Munchkins are the result of a mutation; they are carriers of the dominant achondroplasia gene. The name of the breed is due to the book “The Wizard of Oz” - that was the name of the tribe of tiny little men.
Munchkins are short-haired and long-haired.
Munchkins are affectionate and sociable cats. Loving, but can fend for themselves.
It is not difficult to take care of the munchkins, but it is necessary to ensure that the pet does not develop lordosis.
